Dr. Ron

PT, DPT · Doctor of Physical Therapy

Dr. Ron is a Doctor of Physical Therapy who has been practicing in the United States since 2003. His caseload has leaned orthopedic throughout, and within that toward shoulders, knees and joints: the rotator cuff that will not tolerate an overhead reach, the knee that only speaks up on stairs, the joint that has quietly surrendered range nobody ever measured. His career has also been built well outside a single treatment room. He has established clinics in the Philippines, Dubai, Papua New Guinea, Malaysia and Cambodia, which is a different education from a long tenure in one building. Standing up care in five countries means meeting people with different expectations of therapy, different access to imaging and different amounts of time to give it, and still having to make the shoulder work again. What survives that is method rather than habit, and his method starts with one instruction he states plainly: find the root cause.

Our Approach
Pain that keeps coming back is pain whose cause was never found, so the work is to test until the real driver shows itself and then correct that, rather than hand you random exercises and time on a machine that corrects nothing.

Core Values

What guides the work.

Finding the root cause sounds obvious until you notice how often it gets skipped. A shoulder that catches at one point in the arc and a shoulder that aches at rest are not the same problem, and they will not answer to the same plan. Dr. Ron's position is that testing comes before prescribing, and that what the testing finds is what decides which tissue gets loaded, which gets released, and in what order. The other half of it is his objection to random exercises and to machine work that corrects nothing. Movement chosen at random will tire you out and leave the fault exactly where it was. A knee often hurts because it is absorbing what a hip or an ankle stopped doing, and no amount of time on a machine changes the reason it is being loaded that way. Correct the driver and the joint stops having to compensate for it. That is the standard he holds, and it is the standard a plan of care is worth building to.
