Insurance & Payment Options

Insurance is the part most people put off, so let us take it off your hands. Coverage varies plan to plan, and the only honest answer comes from checking yours. Send us your plan details or call the clinic, and our team verifies your benefits before your first visit, then tells you what is covered, what is not, and what you would owe. If your plan will not cover the care you want, or you would rather not use it at all, self-pay is available and quoted before you book.

01How Verification Works

We check your benefits before you come in.

Nobody reads their own benefits summary for fun. We do it for you. Before you sit down for an evaluation, our team confirms with your plan what physical therapy is worth to you this year, and puts those numbers in front of you while you can still ask questions about them. That is the whole point of checking first: you decide with the real figures, not the ones you are hoping for.

01

You send us your plan

Request an appointment online or call the clinic. We need the name on the policy, the member and group numbers printed on your card, and a date of birth. It takes a couple of minutes.

02

We verify with your insurer

Our team contacts your plan directly and asks the questions that decide what you pay: is outpatient physical therapy covered, is a referral or an authorization required first, how much of your deductible is left, and what is the copay or coinsurance per visit.

03

You hear the numbers first

We walk you through what your plan told us before your first visit, not on a statement weeks later. If those numbers do not work for you, say so, and we will talk through self-pay instead.

A quick translation, because the words on your card do the opposite of explaining themselves. Your deductible is what you pay out of pocket before the plan starts paying anything. If yours resets in January and you begin therapy in February, the early visits usually cost you more, and your cost per visit drops once it is met. A copay is a flat amount you owe at each visit. Coinsurance is a percentage of the visit instead of a flat fee, so it moves with what is billed. Many plans also cap the number of therapy visits they will cover in a year, and some require an authorization before care starts rather than after.

Physical therapy is a course of care, not a single appointment, so the number that actually matters is not the price of one visit. It is what the whole plan of care costs you between now and the day you are discharged. That is the figure we try to hand you up front, and it is also why we would rather have this conversation before your evaluation than during it. One more thing worth knowing: Illinois is a direct access state, so most people can start physical therapy with us without a physician referral. Some plans still want one on file before they will pay, which is exactly the sort of thing the benefits check turns up early instead of late.

Coverage Check

Have this ready when you call and we can start the check on the spot: your insurance card, the member ID and group number printed on it, your date of birth, the name of the policy holder if it is not you, and anything a physician has already sent you about the problem. If you would rather not read numbers down the phone, send them with your appointment request instead and we will come back to you.

02Self-Pay Option

Paying out of pocket is a real option, not a fallback.

Plenty of people here pay directly. Some carry a deductible high enough that the plan was never going to pay for the course anyway. Some have used up the visits their plan allows and are not finished getting better. Some are coming in for Pilates or massage, which sit outside most medical benefits to begin with. Self-pay keeps the decision about how long you stay in care between you and your therapist, and you get the rate before you book, not after.

Whichever route you take, nothing is a surprise. We tell you what the visit costs, we tell you if we think your plan will cover it, and we tell you plainly when we are not certain and are still waiting on your insurer to answer.
