During the winter months our skin screams out for some extra attention and moisture. The cold winter months and added layers of clothes make us sometimes forget how a little extra skin care can do wonders for your body and make your beauty routine more luxurious. I am a big believer in using toxin-free beauty products.

This decadent DIY Whipped Body Butter is one of my favorites. I recommend adjusting this recipe to add in your favorite Young Living Essential Oils for an added bonus and moisturizing benefits. My personal favorites are lavender, frankincense, bergamot or geranium. Try this recipe and let me know if you have a favorite essential oil combination you like to enjoy in your body butter.

DIY Whipped Shea Body Butter with Essential Oils

INGREDIENTS
1 cup Unrefined Shea Butter
1 cup Organic Cold Pressed Coconut Oil
1 tbsp Jojoba Oil
15-20 drops of Young Living Essential Oils (Lavender, Bergamot, Geranium, Frankincense…the options are endless!)
1 eco-friendly jar (should be able to hold 3 cups)
Tools needed: Blender, hand mixer or stand mixer.

DIRECTIONS
Start by adding shea butter, coconut oil and jojoba oil into the blender to combine.
A tip: break up the shea butter into small pieces before blending to ensure your body butter has a smooth finish.
Take mixture and place in the refrigerator to cool & help the body butter solidify.
Once solidified, use the whisk attachment of the stand mixer or a hand mixer to get the mixture to a whipped cream consistency.
Add in your favorite Young Living Essential Oils and whisk once again.
Spoon the fluffy mixture into tubs or jars with a lid.

Tip: Store in a cool place. The body butter will turn into a liquid if it gets too warm.
