I began making my own bone broth about a year ago. I’ve spent a lot of time reading so many fantastic articles and information about how bone broth supports a healthy gut.

The more I educated myself about Leaky Gut, the more incorporated bone broth and other foods into my life to help improve my overall gut health.

At home, we use bone broth when we cook vegetables or chicken (using one pan) and add it to quinoa or rice as an ideal substitute for water. When a recipe calls for water or a liquid I substitute bone broth. And, the best part…it is so easy to make!

In addition to cooking for myself and my two daughters, I give bone broth to our three dogs!! They love the taste and it really makes their hard kibble taste so much better. My golden retriever/lab mix has allergies so I’m trying to improve his gut health too. Okay…so maybe I do spoil our pets a little.

Easy Crockpot Bone Broth Recipe

Ingredients

Beef Or Chicken Bones and Cartilage (preferably from an organic pastured chicken)
Coarsely chopped Carrots
Coarsely chopped Celery
Coarsely chopped Onion
2 Bay Leaves (optional)
3 tbsp Raw Apple Cider Vinegar (Braggs)
Filtered WaterSalt and pepper to taste after cooking

Instructions

Add vegetables and bones to crockpot
Add bay leaves
Fill with filtered water only one inch above bones
Add 3 tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar
Cook on low for at least 24 hours
Strain and store in a sealed container
